One of the biggest highlights of the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is its enormous 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display. The panel delivers a resolution of 2960 × 1848 pixels, a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and peak brightness reaching 1,600 nits.

The large screen makes the tablet particularly attractive for watching movies, editing documents, working with multiple applications, drawing and performing creative tasks. The 120Hz refresh rate should also make scrolling, animations and S Pen interactions appear smooth.

Under the hood, Samsung has equipped the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra with the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor. Samsung lists an octa-core CPU with speeds reaching up to 4.21GHz.

The tablet is available with up to 16GB RAM and 1TB internal storage. Buyers can also choose 12GB RAM variants with 256GB or 512GB storage. Unlike many premium mobile devices, Samsung continues to provide a microSD card slot, supporting cards of up to 2TB.

Camera Setup

The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra carries a 13MP primary rear camera paired with an 8MP ultra-wide camera. On the front, Samsung provides a 12MP ultra-wide camera suitable for video meetings, online classes and video calls.

The tablet can record video at up to 4K 60fps, providing considerably more flexibility than basic tablet camera systems.

Powering the large tablet is an 11,600mAh battery with support for 45W charging. Samsung claims wireless video playback of up to 23 hours, although actual battery life will vary according to brightness, connectivity, applications and usage conditions.

Artificial intelligence is an important part of Samsung's latest tablet experience. Galaxy AI features are integrated throughout the device, while Samsung also highlights support for assistants including Gemini and Bixby.

Samsung says its Automated App Action feature can perform certain multi-step actions across compatible applications. There is also an AI-powered Ask anything feature capable of analyzing pages and open browser tabs to assist with questions and summaries. Availability of individual AI functions can depend on software, region, account and supported applications.

Ultra-Thin Design With IP68 Protection

Despite its massive 14.6-inch display, the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra measures only 5.1mm thick. The Wi-Fi model weighs approximately 692g, while the 5G version weighs about 695g.

Samsung has also given the tablet an IP68 water and dust resistance rating, adding extra protection for users who regularly carry their tablet between home, work, university or travel locations.

Connectivity and Entertainment

Connectivity is another strong area. The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra supports Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0 and, on cellular models, 5G connectivity. Its USB Type-C interface uses USB 3.2 Gen 1.

For entertainment, Samsung has equipped the tablet with four speakers and 4-channel Spatial Audio. Samsung says the system can process conventional two-channel audio into a four-channel sound experience.
